Large openings in the spark screen mesh present less draft restriction than the smaller mesh common to other caps, optimizing draft and reducing the chance of creosote blockage. All models are completely assembled welded construction and all are “blowout proof.” The Combo model has metal tabs that distribute screw pressure to strong chimney tile corners. Secure installations with only 1" of exposed tile liner. (All caps are tab screw models but can be converted to slip-in caps by using the HY-C leg kit.)

Chimney Cap Sizing Guide
Proper chimney cap sizing requires accurate measurement of both the inside and outside of the flue tile. There are no “standard” flue tiles. The size and wall thickness of chimney tiles are extremely varied, depending on the region and when a chimney was built. For this reason, accurate measurements (to the nearest 1/8") are imperative to correctly size a chimney cap. Estimates are not adequate.
